German Cars

    German cars are known for being luxurious and contain many gadgets such as Global Positioning Systems. Germany has one of the largest automotive industries (Top 4) in the world and has the largest share of passenger cars in Europe. Germany is considered the birthplace of the modern car because of Karl Benz. By 1901 Germany was producing about 900 cars per year. The main car companies in Germany are Volkswagen, Audi which is owned by Volkswagen, Mercedes Benz, Porsche, and BMW. Volkswagen is among the three largest car companies in the world (Toyota and General Motors). Nearly six million vehicles are created in Germany each year and 5.5 million vehicles are created overseas by German brands.
